Espino Blanco Forest Reserve
The Espino Blanco (White Thorn) Reserve is situated in the Santa Rosa district of Turrialba. It is located 3500 feet above sea level and is linked to Guayabo through a biological corridor of diverse wildlife.
The area of Espino Blanco is roughly fifty-seven acres, more than sixty percent being primary forest. The reserve holds more than 500 species of trees as well as an important variety of animals, such as frogs, raccoons, and armadillos.
Two main walking paths comprise the reserve, and both of them are very pleasant and accessible. The reserve is only eight kilometers outside of Turrialba. |
